2007 Year of the Youth
Suggested monthly youth activities are not designed to conflict with the established youth programs within an organization. Churches and other organizations are encouraged to plan their own monthly activities if they so desire. The idea is to highlight the importance of youth as the nation's most precious resource.

Values Education Month
Highlight the importance of good citizenship, andChristian values
February
Buffet Food
Heritage Education Month
Treat the youth to a buffet dinner, show heritage videos, share heritage information, etc
March
Entertainment Month
Sponsor a trip to the movies or family entertainment
April
Armed Services Month
Encourage the youth to send cards or write letters to those who serve in the armed forces
May
Travel Month
Sponsor an out of town trip
June
Health Education Month
Invite a health professional to come and discuss ways to remain healthy
July
Joint Activities Faith Month
Plan an activity with another Church or organization, place emphasis on religious training
August
Education Month
Invite educators to discuss ways to succeed in the school system or host a mathematics or language arts seminar
September
Sports Month
As a group, attend a local or out of town sporting event
October
Law Enforcement Month
Partner with other churches or organizations in the area and invite law enforcement officers to come and discuss ways to avoid drugs, alcohol and sexual predators
November
Parent Appreciation Month
Encourage youth to make cards or save money to buy their parents a gift or to take them out to dinner
December
Giving, Sharing, Talent Expression / Award Appreciation Month
Highlight the importance of giving to those who are less fortunate, emphasize the importance of positive relationships, plan an awards/certificate program with other churches or organizations and allow the youth to display their talents such as art, singing, building, and writing etc., host an appreciation meal, summarize the year, allow youth to discuss the highlights of the year
