It is the Little Things That Matter The Most In A Child's Life

Most psychologists agree that the first 6 years of life is the primary development stage of a person's mood and temperament. There is a saying that a person's attitude will determine their altitude in life." This is why it is important for parents to have a positive influence in the lives of their children.

Children mimic the mood and the behavior of their parents therefore it is important for parents to do and say the right things in the presence of their children. When there is a balance of praise and constructive criticism in the early years of a child's life confidence and self worth is usually infused.

Children are the future doctors, lawyers, teachers, nurses, barbers, mechanics and rest home attendants, they are leaders in training. The next Dr. King or Dr. Graham may be residing in someone's home. This is why it is important to be positive role models.

It is important to remember that it is the little things that matters the most in a child's life. For when it is all said and done our children will not judge us on the material gifts they received such as expensive bicycles or beautiful toys. For it is love that is shown to children that matters the most, those times when the television was turned off, or a newspaper was caste aside to listen to what was being said, words of encouragement and hope during difficult times, tears of joy when they spoke their first words or took their first steps, the time spent going a tennis match, a football or basketball game, a dance recital or church. The little things that we do for our children will determine the big things that they do in life.

We say to parents be cheerleaders, an energizers and a motivators use your personal skills to help your child to do their best in school and to be the best that they can be in life.

Let us make sure that love is felt in the homes of all the children who will return to school this year so that there will be a renewed spirit of hope that this school year will be the best ever.
